Minutes of the Meeting of the Jury
of 5th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition
for Young Composers

The meeting of the Jury of 5th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers was held on the 23rd of March 2022.

76 (seventy six) scores (from 28 countries: Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Georgia, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Colombia, South Korea, Kosovo, Macao, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, United States, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy) were submitted to the Competition. 10 (ten) of them were rejected as they were against regulations.

The Jury consisted of: Marcel Chyrzyński (Chairman), Zbigniew Bargielski, Ivan Buffa (Slovakia), Jerzy Dybał and Wojciech Widłak. The Secretary of the Competition was Aleksandra Patalas.

The Jury, after examining 66 scores, decided to award the Main Prize – 1,000 USD – to the composition titled:

Palimpsest (emblem: Zacynthius)

Moreover, the Jury decided to grant 3 (three) honourable distinctions to the compositions titled:

Le Maree (emblem: L50PN)

Hidden Carving (emblem: –..@)

The Infinity Mirror (emblem: MWD2022)

When the envelopes had been opened, it appeared that the winner of the Main Prize is Krystian Neścior (Poland). The winners of the honourable distinctions are Andrea Gerratana from Italy (emblem: L50PN), Maciej Kabza from Poland (emblem: MWD2022) and Candra Bangun Setyawan from Indonesia (emblem: –..@).

The official reading of the protocol and the premiere of the composition granted the Main Prize will take place on the 23rd April 2022 during the concert inaugurating the 34th Kraków International Festival of Composers.

(15 February 2018).

The subject of the competition was a piece for flute, clarinet, violin, viola and cello.

The subject of the competition was a piece for string quartet.

The subject of the competition was a piece for flute and piano.
